Arsenic in Water in Ocala, The Villages, Gainesville, Orlando, & Altomonte Springs

Aresnic is a common water issue in Florida, however it can be easily and affordably removed with an under-sink filter from EcoWater of North Florida.

According to the CDC, “Arsenic can enter the water supply from natural deposits in the earth or from industrial and agricultural pollution. It is widely believed that naturally occurring arsenic dissolves out of certain rock formations when ground water levels drop significantly. Some industries in the United States release thousands of pounds of arsenic into the environment every year. Once released, arsenic remains in the environment for a long time. Arsenic is removed from the air by rain, snow, and gradual settling. Once on the ground or in surface water, arsenic can slowly enter ground water. High arsenic levels in private wells may come from certain arsenic containing fertilizers used in the past or industrial waste. It may also indicate improper well construction or overuse of chemical fertilizers or herbicides in the past.”

How do you know if you have arsenic?

A simple water test can inform you as to the presence and quantity of arsenic in your water. EcoWater of North Florida offers water testing as well as professional analysis of what the test results mean so you know the best way to move forward with treatment.

Our primary arsenic solution is the AdEdge AD4510S Arsenic Reduction Cartridge which is replacement filter for under the counter or POU (point-of-use) filters that require filtration right at the point where water is being used. The filter removes up to 99% of arsenic from water. With a nominal rating of 25 microns and a flow rate of 0.5 gpm, the filter cartridge is apt for any standard filter housing. It has a capacity of 3,000 gallons and the dimensions are 4 3/4″ x 9 3/4″ making it easy to fit-in any under sink spaces.

I was having an issue with my water softner. It was draining water all over the floor of the room it was located in. I called a company that wanted $90 to come out and check the softner. I called Ecowater Systems and they came out for $40 found the problem was a clogged drain going into the ground. They cut the line just above the ground line and fixed the problem. I am very grateful. They didn't try and sell me a rebuild kit or a new water softner. They simply charged the $42.75 for a 10 point inspection and reset and regenerated the softner. When we need service in the future we will be sure to call Ecowater Systems. The tech Larry was great and explained everything. Thank YOU!!!!!

During our construction/new well we had our water tested to see what type of system we needed in order to resolve, at the very least, the sulfur smell and iron in our water. Every interaction I had with Susie was very professional, pleasant and never pushy or talking in a language I didn't understand. She recommended Tucker come out and take a look at our well and provide us a quote with what we would need to resolve our issues due to the fact we ended up having iron bacteria on top of the other problems. Tucker was very confident in the systems that Ecowater installs and gave his opinion on going with a peroxide system vs. a traditional chlorination/de-chlorination system. We ended up going with the chlor/de-chlor with a water softener and have had excellent outcomes with the system and water quality. In our previous Pasco County home with just a chlorination system and water softener (installed by another company) our dogs with sensitive stomachs were having to get bottled water because of how bad the water quality still was. With this new system we took a chance and gave our dogs water right out of the tap and they have not had a single issue and yes, it's all about the dogs 🙂 Iron bacteria, if not treated, will leave a musty smell on your clothes when they get warm from body heat and it's a very distinct smell if you have ever had it. We have not had a single item of clothing smell like this and we are sure it's due to the water systems we have installed. Overall, we are happy with the choice to go with Ecowater Systems and would recommend Susie and Tucker to anyone. They are not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for.
